Palermo

Cappella Palatina

Christmas morning we found ourselves in Palermo on the west coast of Sicily. Even though the city would be easy access, we decided to take the tour since it was a holiday and the tour guide would know what was open. As it turned out, we went to several cathedrals/cloisters/oratorios that we would have missed for sure on our own. The first stop was in Palermo at the Cappella Palatina.
First stop was a remarkable place covered with mosaics from top to bottom, literally, most of which was heavy in gold, the Cappella Palatina in Palermo. The Cappella Palatina courtyard decorated for Christmas.
