STREETS

The excavated area is quite large. We probably saw about half of it. Generally the streets meet at perpindicular corners and run pretty straight. There are sidewalks that are about 8-10 inches higher than the stone roadway where rainwater ran. There are "bumps" in the road which are actually stepping stones to cross the street. On many streets, you could see the worn tracks of carts in the stones.
