Windows Vista and NetWare

The newest Windows desktop OS, Vista, comes with a Netware IPX client (the famous Microsoft NWLINK driver) and automatically upgrades it when you upgrade a machine from Windows XP, ME, 9x or NT. There's more at the Microsoft Vista site.

FrSIRT has identified a NetWare Welcome Web-app Module Client-Side Cross Site Scripting Vulnerability affecting NetWare version 6.5 Support Pack 6 and prior.

Microsoft drops NetWare

According to Microsoft Certified Professional magazine, Microsoft's System Management Server (SMS) 2003 drops "NetWare support. Sorry, Provo, but you just don’t have enough marketshare anymore. (This also means no more IPX site boundaries.)"
