California Dreaming - III
A mini family reunion spontaneously occured on Labor Day weekend 2001. Plans were made online and many of the planned activities actually happened. The restaurant industry in the area certainly got a boost ! First stop - the Jelly Belly Factory tour. No photos allowed inside but it was very interesting and we bought lots o' jelly beans.
How many men does it take to pack up the jellies?

Next stop - Berkeley - where we stumbled across the Berkeley Rose Garden before lunch. The gardens were nice and the view was wonderful, no matter which bridge was in the distance !

On to the city of San Francisco. We walked through Chinatown and did a little shopping, went to Ghiardelli Square, and then to Pier 39 to watch the sea lions. Dinner at eight at the Cliff House in the fog.

Friday, we traveled south to Santa Cruz. At the Boardwalk, we took the train trip to Roaring Camp in the redwoods and return. The adults took turns taking Iman on rides and then the "ladies" walked to the ocean to stick in our toes. Some of us got pretty wet and sandy and needed a wash.

Sunday we travelled farther south to Monterey. We went to the very crowded aquarium, got a bite to eat, and drove (very slowly) 17-Mile Drive in the Pebble Beach Community. It was very foggy but golfers and Kearns' were not detered. Then dinner in Capitola-by-the-Sea.
