How tart are those grapes?

Former college professor Brian Reid is suing Google for age-discrimination in a suit filed last week. The 54-year-old Reid charges that he was summarily fired because: a) he was too old; b) he was diabetic; and c) he was about to cash in on the IPO. But since he was a 52-year-old diabetic when he was hired, I think this will be a hard one to prove. The IPO issue, of course, is nonsense. There's a lot of people holding a lot more options and warrants than Reid - why weren't they fired? While I don't know Reid at all, I'd be willing to wager that the problem stems more from his slower-paced acadenic background not meshing with the frenetic pace of the Mountain View campus.
